CAI Acquires Fairhurst Professional Services - CAI is pleased to announce the acquisition of Fairhurst Professional Services of Shelburne, VT. As part of the agreement, Sean Fairhurst has joined CAI as Chief Technical Officer. Prior to joining CAI, Mr. Fairhurst has been the chief architect and programmer of CAI’s highly successful Query Manager Desktop and Query Manager OnLine products. Further, he has extensive experience in providing customized applications for clients ranging from various municipal departments to some of the largest water departments in the country. This important step for CAI solidifies the services we have provided as well as enhances our ability to be responsive to our clients’ needs and requests. It also expands the services we can provide.

CAI Acquires Don Dollard Associates – CAI is pleased to announce the acquisition of Don Dollard Associates of Auburn, NH. After having served municipalities in New Hampshire for decades, Mr. Dollard decided to retire. CAI and Mr. Dollard have always had a mutual respect for each other’s business practices, which, coupled with our personal friendships, have made for easy and smooth transitions for his former clients. As a result of the acquisition, CAI has added more than 20 municipalities to our client list. We will strive to continue to provide the level of service Mr. Dollard provided to his clients while at the same time making new and powerful technology available to them. Several clients have already taken advantage of the GIS opportunities now available to them.

Don Butson Retirement – After 25 years with CAI, Don Butson has begun to implement his retirement plans. As an original founder of the firm and President for the past 11 years, Don has provided his steady leadership and been an integral part of making Cartographic Associates, Inc what it is today; a recognized leader in municipal mapping and GIS services throughout New England. We sincerely thank Don for all his years of service, guidance, and for his role in putting CAI in a strong position to continue, and even expand our services to all our clients. We are proud to have had the opportunity to work with him and are thankful that he will remain a part of our team on a consulting basis for the next several years.

QUERY MANAGER ONLINE:

As a result of our clients’ needs and their requests for a powerful, simple to use, scalable Internet-based GIS solution, CAI is pleased to provide Query Manager OnLine. Developed using the most advanced ESRI ArcGIS Server and Microsoft Silverlight technologies, Query Manager OnLine functions in the cloud, providing our clients the opportunity to cost effectively utilize browser-based technologies to share their municipal GIS data with anyone with a web browser and Internet connection.

Query Manager OnLine is being implemented in our client communities for general public access to municipal GIS and into various municipal departments for internal staff use. The Query Manager OnLine solution includes the utility for staff users to upload the latest Assessment, Building Permit, Emergency Services, etc. data whenever and as often as needed! Our approach is simple – provide simple to use, powerful technology to meet our clients’ needs at an affordable price.

CAI RECEIVES MASSACHUSETTS ITS 43 CONTRACT AWARD - CAI is pleased to announce that we have received approval by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an ITS 43 - Technical Specialist vendor. This statewide contract enables Commonwealth municipalities and government agencies to utilize, through direct contacting, our professional software development, database design, systems integration and GIS services and solutions.

MASSGIS SELECTS CAI TO ASSIST IN DEVELOPING MASSACHUSETTS COMMONWEALTH-WIDE GIS PARCEL LAYER - CAI is proud to announce that we have been awarded a contract to assist in the development of a Massachusetts Commonwealth-wide GIS parcel layer. The scope of this project includes parcel map conversion services, GIS data conversion and development services, CAMA database to parcel linking and delivery to meet Level III of the MassGIS Digital Parcel Standard. We are very excited about this project as it represents a unique opportunity for municipalities to implement standardized digital parcel data throughout the Commonwealth.

West Fairlee, VT has contracted with CAI to complete a town-wide parcel-mapping project. The parcel maps will be prepared using thorough research, on a highly accurate base map resulting in a high quality, GIS processed, parcel mapping system. This project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2011. We are very excited to have the opportunity to work with Town on this important project.

Hooksett, NH selects CAI to provide GIS database design and conversion services. This project also includes restructuring the Town’s existing parcel data to support efficient and cost effective map and GIS data maintenance services. CAI is also implementing Query Manager Online, which will allow the community the opportunity to take advantage of the latest ESRI ArcGIS Server technologies to distribute their GIS to both Town staff and general public users in a web browser environment. We look forward to working with the Town to continue expanding their GIS based on the needs of the community.

Oak Point Associates, Inc., a full service architectural design and engineering firm, with offices located in Maine and New Hampshire, has contracted with CAI to provide professional GIS services for a project located in Brooklyn, NY. The project includes GIS data development, data management and CAD to GIS conversion services. The GIS data developed as a result of this project will be delivered using the latest ESRI geodatabase technology.

Williamstown, MA has selected CAI to provide complete town-wide digital parcel mapping and GIS development services. The project will include thorough record research and compilation of all property lines onto a highly accurate base map, resulting in a high quality, GIS processed, parcel mapping system. The project is scheduled to be completed in the Fall 2011 and will serve as a solid foundation for future GIS implementation which will include serving the municipal GIS to both staff and the public using Query Manager Online.

Nelson, NH has contracted with CAI to complete a town-wide parcel-mapping project. The parcel maps will be prepared using thorough research, on a highly accurate base map resulting in a high quality, GIS processed, parcel fabric. The timing and payment schedule for this project is to be spread over a three-year period in an effort to ease the financial burden on the Town.

Essex, MA has contracted with CAI to continue with the multi-year phased town-wide parcel-mapping project. This phase of the project includes record research and map compilation for a specific area of the Town. We look forward to working with Essex on this very important project, which will serve as the foundation for future GIS development and implementation for the Town.

IN VERMONT – We’ve been extremely busy with several communities that we are pleased to have added to our ever-growing list of clients. Barre City, Barre Town, Hardwick, Ferrisburg, and Highgate have all selected CAI to develop and maintain their GIS data. These projects include everything from parcel conversion to Query Manager OnLine web-based GIS development.

Hartford,VT hired CAI to complete the GPS location and mapping of their water and sewer systems. Having already collected systems in the Quechee section of Town, this project has resulted in an inventory of systems, town-wide. CAI also completed all system connectivity and provided PWIM Desktop GIS software to facilitate local use of these important datasets.

Littleton, NH has contracted with CAI to complete the first phase of what is intended to be a multi-year phased project to complete a town-wide parcel-mapping project. The project will include thorough record research and compilation of all property lines on a highly accurate base map, resulting in a quality digital, GIS processed, parcel mapping system.
